One of the deepest desires of every sincere Christian is to know and follow God’s will. Questions such as “What does God want me to do?”, “Am I making the right decision?”, and “How can I honor God with my life?” are common among believers who desire to grow spiritually.
The Bible teaches that God has a purpose for every person. His plans are not random or uncertain. They are shaped by His perfect wisdom, unfailing love, and eternal perspective. While we may not always understand His timing or every detail of His guidance, we can trust that His will is always good.
Psalm 143:10 expresses the heart of someone who desires God’s direction:
“Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground.”
David recognized that following God’s will required humility, teachability, and dependence on the Holy Spirit. He did not rely solely on his own understanding but asked God to guide every step.
